Dear Friends,
This is wonderful! Welcome to our cyber ministry page.
I am always getting telephone calls asking, “What kind
of church is this?” I am never quite sure what people are really asking
me. There are a lot of ways to answer such a question.
I could say, well we are a church that looks a
lot like the early church. We believe in Jesus as the Christ, the Son of the
Living God. I could say it is a church that is called into being as God’s way
of demonstrating God’s Love to the world. I could say, it is a church that
believes in a simple Confession of Faith in Jesus Christ, practices Baptism by
immersion, celebrates the Eucharist, Holy Communion or the Lord’s Supper every
time we worship, affirms the “priesthood of all believers” and affirms the
leadership and ministry of the laity, is an autonomous community that works in
cooperation with the CHRISTIAN CHURCH (Disciples of Christ) denomination and The
CHRISTIAN CHURCH in OHIO. We recognize all of our brothers and sisters in
Christ. We seek to work side by side in mission and in relationship with the
whole body of Christ as we practice Christian unity.
I
could say, all of those things. But most important of all, the CHURCH IS
PEOPLE! This congregation is made up of people of faith trying their best to
discern and do the will of God in daily life; people who seek to grow our faith
in God and in God’s son Jesus Christ; people with a vision for the mission God
has called us to share in this new century; people with a passion to care for
others; people who share the gifts God has given in every way; people who know
they belong; people at home with each other. This is the church! Come be our
guest in worship and allow us the privilege of meeting you personally.
